Homemade Granola
October 4, 2009This is a base recipe that I use to make granola. You can add anything you have handy to this mix. The result is a loose granola that is great by itself or as a cereal.
Dry ingredients:
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup pumpkin seeds
1 cup sweetened coconut
1 cup slivered almonds
1/4 cup cashews
Wet ingredients:
1 teas vanilla
1/4 cup agave syrup
2 tbs molasses
1 tbs canola oil
Combine wet ingredients and then toss that with the dry ingredients to create the base granola.
Bake at 275 for about 45 minutes until golden brown stirring frequently
Date mixture:
chop 1/3 cup dates
2 tbs ground flax
2 tbs wheat germ
2 tbs wheat bran
Combine dates with flax, bran, and germ.
Dried fruit ideas:
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup dried mix of apricots, raisins, banana, papaya – any dried fruit you’d like.
Mix base granola with the date mix and dried fruit and you have yourself some homemade granola.
